DAIICHI SANKYO HEALTHCARE DIRECT Co.,Ltd. (“the Company”) believes that personal information should be handled with care to respect the privacy of individuals. The Company recognizes that protection of privacy is fundamental to its business activities and is one of its social responsibilities, and endeavors to protect the rights of the individual and comply with laws and regulations concerning personal information. In addition, the Company has built a personal information protection management system that embodies the policies shown below, and makes every effort to keep abreast of the latest IT technology trends, changes in social demands, changes in the management environment, etc., to implement ongoing improvements to its system on a company-wide basis.

Acquisition, Use, and Provision of Personal Information
The Company shall acquire, use, and provide the personal information of customers and employees appropriately, within the necessary scope for carrying out legitimate operations in the Company’s cosmetics and health food mail-order business, etc. The Company shall not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the stated purpose of use (that is, the Company will not use personal information other than for the intended purposes). In addition, the Company shall take measures to prevent unauthorized use.
Proper Management of Personal Information
To prevent unauthorized access to personal information and the loss, damage, falsification, or leakage of personal information, the Company has implemented reasonable safety measures and invested management resources that are consistent with business realities to implement ongoing improvements to the Company’s personal information security system. In addition, if the Company judges that it has a problem in protecting personal information, corrective measures shall be taken promptly.
Personal Information Protection Management System
Based on changes in the environment surrounding the Company, the Company has formulated a personal information protection management system that is in conformity with the Japanese Industrial Standard “Personal information protection management systems – requirements” (JIS Q 15001), and shall review this system in a timely and appropriate manner, and continuously promote improvements.
Compliance with Laws and Regulations Concerning Personal Information
The Company shall comply with laws and regulations regarding personal information protection, national guidelines, and other standards. In addition, a personal information protection manager has been appointed to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately, and employees shall be educated on personal information protection and have their knowledge verified. The Company shall also strive to review, update, and improve its personal information protection measures on an ongoing basis.
Provision of Personal Information
Personal information provided by customers shall not be provided or disclosed to third parties except in the following cases:
  • To provide personal information in connection with business handover for reasons such as the Company’s merger, spin-off, or business transfer
  • If required to by law or regulation
  • When deemed necessary to prevent serious damage to the life, body or property of the customer or a third party
  • When prior approval and consent has been obtained from the customer
Outsourcing of the Handling of Personal Information
The handling of personal information provided by customers may be outsourced to a contractor with which the Company has concluded a confidentiality agreement regarding personal information, within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use indicated to the customer.
 
Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use of Personal Information, and Complaints and Inquiries Concerning Personal Information
The Company shall promptly and sincerely respond to complaints and inquiries regarding the handling of personal information. Please contact the following contact point in order to learn about the procedures for the disclosure, correction, and suspension of use of your personal information, as well as to submit complaints and inquiries.
 
Disposal of specific personal information, etc.
The Company shall dispose of, or delete, specific personal information, etc. regarding which the purpose of use has been accomplished, as promptly as possible.
Revisions to this Policy
The Company shall distribute this Policy to all employees in order to ensure that they are aware of it, and measures shall be taken to make it available to anyone at any time through the posting of it on the Company's website, and in brochures, etc. In the case that this Policy has been changed, notice of this shall promptly be given on the website of the Company.
